Excused Absences

Excused absents are absents which occur with the knowledge and approval of the parent or guardian and for reason deemed unavoidable by the principal. Examples of excused absences are: illness of the student, illness or death in the student's family, observing of holy days, and absences of an emergency nature.

A student shall be excused from attending school for the purpose of observing religious holy days if before the absence the parent or guardian of the student submits a written request  for the excused absence. The student will be excused for the days on which the holy days are observed and on the days for which the student will travel to and from the site where the student will observe the holy days.
